14: How My Daughter's ICU Experience Inspired Our Intentional Living for Mothers Audio Event, Personal Stories from Monica
From Crisis to Calling: The Birth of an Audio Event for Mothers
When Monica Virga Alborno’s daughter landed in the ICU with pneumonia in early 2024, it marked a turning point in her life. What followed was not just a season of recovery, but a profound awakening. From hospital hallways to handwritten journal pages, Monica began envisioning a free, virtual audio event—one that would support mothers from all walks of life in living with more intention.
As the founder of Wand(HER)wild Family Retreats and the digital community Wand(HER)wild, Monica had already created immersive in-person experiences for mothers and children. But as she watched her daughter fight to breathe, a deeper understanding of access, equity, and impact began to take root.
A Year in the Making: Turning a Personal Experience Into Collective Healing
Shortly after her daughter’s hospitalization, Monica found herself pouring words onto a page—a spontaneous download of what this offering could be. The idea came quickly but the execution took time. With the support of her small but mighty team, and in collaboration with longtime friend Carolyn, she began to shape what would eventually become the Intentional Living for Mothers audio summit.
From the very start, the intention was clear: to make soulful support available to every mother, regardless of financial or geographic barriers. The summit, free to access for five days, includes 31 real and heart-led conversations between Monica and women from around the world—many of them fellow entrepreneurs, healers, educators, and mothers navigating their own paths of transformation.
Real Conversations With Real Women
What makes the summit unique is its format. These aren’t pre-recorded talks or generic PowerPoints. Monica sat down with each speaker individually, fostering organic conversations that were both personal and purposeful. She curated not just the list of contributors, but also the topics and questions—ensuring every session felt intimate and impactful.
What emerged was a powerful thread: every woman featured in the event had turned pain into purpose. Whether through postpartum struggles, burnout, loss, or life pivots, each guest had found a way to alchemize their experience into healing—both for themselves and others. For Monica, it was a reminder of the immense power that lives within women when they support one another without agenda.
The Logistics: Free, Accessible, and Soulful
The event runs February 3–7 and is available free for the first week. Each day, participants receive 6–7 audio episodes delivered podcast-style via email. The conversations range from 15 to 25 minutes—bite-sized and digestible for busy mothers. For those who can’t tune in during the live week, the full summit (plus bonus workshops) is available for just $33 for a full year of access.
In addition to the core conversations, participants are invited into two live workshops: a pause breathwork session and an EFT tapping circle. These sessions offer not just tools, but experiential healing designed to shift energy, release stuck patterns, and reconnect to personal power.
Monica also sweetened the paid upgrade by including access to the most popular Wand(HER)wild workshops: Time Bending, Slow Living, Shadow Work Vision Boarding, and a Theta Breathwork Release Session. For less than the cost of a takeout dinner, participants gain access to a transformative library of wellness support.

Holding Space: Reflections From the Host
As a former corporate engineer and high-level manager turned wellness entrepreneur, Monica brings a unique blend of structured leadership and intuitive vision to her work. Hosting this summit gave her the opportunity to stretch into a new role—not just as a facilitator, but as a convener of wisdom.
Her favorite part? Curating every conversation from the ground up—choosing speakers, crafting questions, and holding space for vulnerable storytelling. While her podcast, Wand(HER)wild, usually features co-hosted episodes with Carolyn, this project was an invitation to expand—into deeper dialogues and more community-led impact.
She was also surprised by how fulfilling it felt. Despite juggling a demanding workload between the summit and her in-person retreats, Monica found herself energized, not depleted. When work aligns with purpose, she discovered, the effort feels meaningful—even sacred.
Building Sisterhood, One Story at a Time
Monica reflects on the joy of seeing women champion one another throughout the summit creation process. There was no competition, no comparison—just pure, authentic celebration of each other’s work. Whether she was interviewing longtime friends or new collaborators she’d admired from afar, the energy was always the same: generous, grounded, and full of mutual respect.
This, she believes, is the future of women’s work: collaborative, not competitive. Empowering, not extractive. A space where mothers don’t just survive, but thrive—together.
Why Now, Why Mothers?
The Intentional Living for Mothers audio event is, at its core, a love letter to mothers navigating modern life. It’s for the mom who feels stretched thin, yet still dreams big. For the entrepreneur in her postpartum haze. For the homeschooling mother seeking soul nourishment. For the women building legacies between naps, night feeds, and school drop-offs.
Monica designed it for all the versions of herself that have existed over the years—corporate Monica, newborn mom Monica, grieving Monica, creative Monica. And for all the women she hasn’t met yet, but knows in her bones are walking similar paths.
This summit is about redefining how we gather, how we support, and how we heal. It’s about remembering that no matter how isolating motherhood can feel, we were never meant to do it alone.
